Look at what we will be learning next week: 

Math -  We will work with numbers up to 20 to represent them in many ways.  We will learn that there are patterns in our place value system that inform us how to represent, write, and express numbers.

Language Arts -

        Reading:  We will develop and use strategies to decode words.  

        Writing:   We will continue reviewing beginner writing skills as we work in our daily writing                                       journals.  We are focusing on staying on topic, using periods and capital letters, and                                   finger spaces between words.  

        Phonics/Spelling:  We will concentrate on the short vowel /e/.

Social Studies -    We will identify characteristics of good citizenship.  There are some great vocabulary words as we talk about what makes a good citizen (truthfulness, respect, equality, responsibility). 

 Science -  Your child will be learning about sorting objects.  He or she is learning how to classify and sort objects by identifying their properties, such as, weight, shape, color, and texture.  We will discuss how we use our 5 senses to help us describe objects.

*Please remember to send your child's Ipad to school every day.  Also, please make sure that it is charge every evening as we do not have chargers at school for the Ipads. Thank you!!

This fall we have both in-person and online options for purchasing. Due to our current visitor policy and to provide a way for our virtual learners to purchase as well, we are excited about the online option. Please see below for important information:

Thursday, September 2nd - Online shopping option opens! 

• Visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/towncenterelementaryschool to purchase books that will be shipped directly to your house. 
  
• Both in-person and virtual learners can choose this option

Tuesday, September 7th - Shopping available in the TCE Library

• For in-person learners only (families/visitors will not be able to attend)
