Please bring canned food items and/or a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Coppell Lions Club.  We will be collecting canned goods and toys from November 29th  to December 16th. You may drop your items by the TCE giving tree in the front of the school.  THANK YOU for your donation!!

Let's spend next week doing something fun!  Please see below.

December 17th - Early Release Day

December 20th  - January 4th - Winter Break/No School

January 7th - Report cards emailed home

January 17th - No School (MLK day holiday)

Look at what we will be learning next week:

Math -  Learners will continue to generate  word problems as well as continue to use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems.  They will practice solving word problems with the unknowns in all positions.  For example:

  • Mrs. Sork has some stickers.  Elliot gave Mrs. Sork 4 more stickers.  Now she has 17 stickers.  How many stickers did Mrs. Sork have to start with?   ? + 4 = 17
  • Mrs. Sork has 17 stickers.  She gave some to Nathan.  Now she has 4.  How many stickers did she give to Nathan?  17 - ? = 4
  • Corbin had some pencils.  He lost 8.  Now he has 11. How many did he have in the beginning?  ? - 8 = 11

Practice counting to 120 by fives.

Language Arts  - Since this is our last week in the grading period, we will spend the week reviewing past reading, writing, and spelling rules.  I am so proud of how far everyone has come since August!  Their skills impress me every day!  We will put our skills to good use just enjoying some reading with friends next week.

We will not have any spelling test next week as I know things are busy things are at home for everyone and it's hard to get some studying in.  We will pick spelling back up after the winter break.

Social Studies -   We will be learning about traditions around the world!!

Science We are planning to be spending time in our TCE garden!! We will complete our reindeer unit!!! What a fun week!!

*Please remember to send your child's Ipad to school every day.  Also, please make sure that it is charged every evening as we do not have chargers at school for the Ipads. Thank you!!

Snack
We have a short snack time each day. It is important that they have a healthy and nutritious snack each day to fuel their bodies. We also ask that the snack they bring is completely free of peanuts/tree nuts. This will help provide a safe environment for all learners. Thank you for your help!

Ms. Martin, our principal, sends out a weekly parent newsletter. Please make sure you read this every week. You can click the image above for easy access.

Volunteers
If you anticipate volunteering on campus at all this year, please click here.  A new form must be completed each year.

Birthday Treats

Birthday treats brought by students must be store bought, have its ingredients listed, and run by the nurse before given to students.  It is recommended that the treats are individually wrapped and nonperishable treats that are easy to pass out. 😊 Birthday treats will continue to be passed out at the end of the day to be eaten at home.

Pics from the week

These projects were precious!!  We had so much fun learning more about each other.  It has made our class families even closer.  Learning about our different customs/traditions/beliefs bonds us in a very special way.  I love the diversity at TCE, and I appreciate how we love, respect, and care about one another.  I LOVE this project, and I adore these little angels!!  I was very proud of their presentation skills, also!!
