Look at what we will be learning next week: 

Math -  Learners will represent numbers up to 100 with objects, pictures, and standard and expanded form.  We will continue to discuss addition and subtraction strategies that will help us recall a math fact.  Please take the time to work with your child on their math facts.

Play " Guess My Number"

  • I am thinking of an even number.  It is greater than 17 and less than 19?  What number am I thinking?   
  • I am thinking of a number.   It has 2 tens and 3 ones.  What number am I thinking? 
  • I am thinking of number.  It has 1 ten and 15 ones.   What number am I thinking? 

Practice counting to 120 by ones from any given number.  

Practice counting to 120 by tens from any given number.  

Practice counting to 120 by fives.  

Language Arts 

        Reading:  We will learn that we can read words even if they do not follow a pattern.  We have also started on our next second of snap words.  If you need a new snap word sheet to practice reading at home, please contact Mrs. Vincenzo.  

        Writing: We will continue working on our how to writing by breaking up an activity into sequential steps. 

       Phonics/Spelling:  We will continue our study of digraphs.  A digraph is when 2 letters come together to make 1 sound.  Next week we will study the "fl" and "sl" digraphs

Social Studies - We will be learning about state and national patriotic symbols.

Science -  Learners will demonstrate and record the ways that objects can move such as in a straight line, zig zag,  up and down, back and forth, round and round, and fast and slow.

*Please remember to send your child's Ipad to school every day.  Also, please make sure that it is charged every evening as we do not have chargers at school for the Ipads. Thank you!!

Boosterthon

Our fundraising event will be a "fun run" held during the school day on October 21st. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for PTO funds that support classroom grants and school resources. Registration is officially open on mybooster.com!


1. REGISTER your child(ren) on mybooster.com. It is free and takes 30 seconds! **We have an incentive for each classroom that gets all students registered by October 13th!
2. SHARE with 5 family/friends using the SHARE tools on mybooster.com (Facebook, Text Message, or Email) Students will earn rewards just for sharing from mybooster.com
3. GIVE a donation if you are able to give. You can pledge money per lap or just give a flat donation- every bit helps!
